The Hinata: Mission quest continues Hinata’s main story route.
How to start#
The quest starts automatically when all of these conditions are met:
- it is Day 60 or later;
- it is morning;
- the protagonist is at home;
- the protagonist is in his normal form.
Naruto comes to get the protagonist and says Kakashi urgently wants to see him. Kakashi sends the protagonist and Hinata to the Land of Stone Rivers, home of the Hidden Magma Village. Their job is to prevent another conflict and settle a territorial dispute.
The choices during the conversation with Kakashi only change dialogue and do not branch the mission.
Journey to the Land of Stone Rivers#
The trip takes several days and is mostly linear.
First camp#
At the campfire you can ask Hinata about her relationship with Naruto or go to sleep. Asking opens extra dialogue but does not change the route.
Rain and the tent#
The next day a heavy rain starts. Hinata falls into a puddle and her backpack and sleeping bag get soaked. The protagonist and Hinata eventually undress and share one sleeping bag so they do not freeze.
There are no route-changing choices here.
Hot spring#
Later they stop at a hot spring. You can ask Hinata about the school or simply relax. This only changes the conversation.
Hinata overheats and passes out in the water. The protagonist pulls her out and gives her artificial respiration. The journey then continues.
Hidden Magma shinobi ambush#
Before reaching the feudal lord, a group of Magma shinobi ambushes the protagonist and Hinata. They demand either all of the protagonist’s money or permission to grope Hinata.
This is an important choice:
- Give them all your money — the protagonist loses all current Ryo and Hinata is left alone.
- Let them grope Hinata — a scene follows in which the shinobi grope Hinata. If the protagonist has no money, paying them is unavailable.
If you choose the second option, another choice appears during the scene: either join the others or try to help Hinata cope by telling her to imagine that she is the one in control. This extra choice changes the scene but not later progression.
The game remembers the main ambush outcome and refers back to it in some dialogue during the Fake Boyfriend route.
Both outcomes continue the mission.
Feudal Lord Otoishi#
In the Land of Stone Rivers, the protagonist and Hinata meet the feudal lord Otoishi Ieyasu. He says he will give the disputed territory to Konoha if Hinata proves she is willing to complete the mission at any cost by giving him a handjob.
This is the mission’s main choice:
- Hinata, he’s right — the protagonist convinces Hinata to agree. Hinata gives Otoishi a handjob, and he gives the disputed land to Konoha. The game remembers this choice and later Hinata scenes react to it.
- Leave her alone — the protagonist protects Hinata and she refuses. The war is still prevented, but Konoha does not get the disputed territory.
Refusing therefore does not fail the whole mission. It changes the result of the negotiations and later dialogue.
Return to Konoha#
After returning, the protagonist and Hinata report to Kakashi with Hiashi present.
- If Hinata accepted the feudal lord’s demand, Kakashi treats the result as essentially a 100% success: peace is preserved and Konoha gets the disputed territory.
- If Hinata refused, peace is still preserved, but Konoha has to give up the territory.
Hiashi asks who contributed more to the mission — the protagonist or Hinata. This changes dialogue but not the route.
Hiashi gives Hinata a second chance to prove that she deserves to be the Hyuga clan’s heir. When the mission ends, the next quest starts automatically: Hinata: After the Mission.
